The philosophy of the athletic program at CKS is to structure programs into both developmental and competitive levels, to instill Catholic values and to promote sportsmanship and teamwork for all players. The generous gift of time and talent by the athletic board members, volunteer coordinators, coaches, and supportive parents helps to make athletics at Christ the King successful.
CKS is a member of the Inter-City Catholic League (ICCL). In most sports, students can participate beginning in 5th grade and teams are created based on grade level: 5th/6th (“B” teams) and 7th/8th (“varsity” and, in some sports, “colors” teams). In the event that CKS does not meet the minimum roster size for a sport, we may form a combined team with another school.
All students planning to register for any sport for the upcoming school year should have the required forms submitted on or before Back-to-School Book Sale/Picture Day on August 14th, 2017 in addition to completing the online registration. The Emergency Medical Authorization and ICCL Athletic Contract are each required once a year and apply to all sports for the entire school year, as well as the Concussion Awareness & Sudden Cardiac Arrest Acknowledgement Form. Forms need to be on file in order to attend any practices at the beginning of the fall season or open gyms during the summer. We look forward to another great year of athletics at CKS…Go Kings!
