At Christ the King School, we value the sacrifice our families make to provide a Catholic education for their children. While we are always in need of funds for operational and financial aid needs, we understand that the financial commitment alone to send your children here can be hefty. For this reason, we limit our fundraising endeavors and additional funding requests. See below for a breakdown of fundraisers we conduct as a school and for any questions, please contact Principal, Steve Hoffman.

All Catholic Schools participate in the “You Can Lend a Hand” Quality Dining coupon book fundraiser. On page 9 of the Parent/Student Handbook is the information regarding Diocesan Policy 2120 about fundraising. For “You Can Lend a Hand,” CKS families (K-8) are required to sell/purchase a minimum number of books (10 per student or 25 per family for a family of 3 or more). Proceeds from the sales of these books go directly to our school.

The Christ the King Dinner Auction is a bi-annual gala designed as a joint fundraiser for the school and parish. Guests enjoy an evening with silent and live auction purchase opportunities, raffles, and much more. This event funds a large part of the SGO (Scholarship Granting Organization) student financial aid and provides operational funds for the parish. In 2017, the event raised over $175,000.

As mentioned by Fr. Steve at the Back to School night in August, the Fall Raffle is a mandatory fundraising event for all school families. This year our raffle is sponsored by and the grand prize will be $5000! The selling window for the raffle is September 27-October 14, 2019. The winner will be announced at a school assembly LIVE on our school’s Facebook page on October 17th at 2:30 pm ET.

Each ticket will be sold for $10. Only those 18 and older can legally purchase the tickets.  The number of tickets you are assigned is determined by the number of children you have enrolled at CKS. Families with one child are asked to sell 10 tickets, two children sell 15 tickets, and families with three or more students will sell 20 tickets total. Payments can be made via cash, check, or money order (payable to CKS), and is due with the return of the ticket stubs.

Selling opportunities will be available after the weekend masses during the selling period to those families with three or more children. Additional information on these opportunities will be made as the raffle draws near.

Turn-in of the ticket stubs and payments is available each school-day morning between  September 30 and October 14 to the homeroom teacher. Please ensure all stubs and payments are marked clearly and sealed in an envelope or Ziploc bag when returned to school.  All ticket stubs and payments are due to the school by October 14th at 10 AM ET.  

IMPORTANT:  All raffle tickets are numbered to allow for proper tracking of the seller.  You must return all the tickets that are assigned to you.  Whether you sell them or not, the ticket stubs must be returned to ensure an accurate count for Indiana gaming laws.  Any unreturned tickets after 10 AM ET on October 14th will become your responsibility and charged to the student/family account.  

Students must be involved in the selling process.  This is a fantastic way to grow in communication skills, goal setting and hard work, all while supporting their school. Additional tickets will be available for children that want to sell above the minimum. Should you feel unable to reach your family goal, you must reach out to Mr. Hoffman or Fr. Steve to discuss your family situation before October 14th.

In 2008, Christ the King began a sister parish relationship with Corpus Christi Parish in Jalchatra, Bangladesh, which, like Christ the King, is administered by the Congregation of Holy Cross. Students at Christ the King engage our sister parish in a number of ways. There are several opportunities throughout the year for the students to raise money for our sister parish through coin collection boxes and dress down days. These are all optional. A little bit of money goes a long way in Bangladesh.

CKS usually holds 3-4 “Dress Down Days” per year to benefit various charity organizations. These are OPTIONAL and are not fundraisers for Christ the King. Children are asked to make a donation (of any amount) to the specific charity in exchange for being able to “dress down” on that particular day. Occasionally, students will only be allowed to wear jeans instead of fully dressing down.
