[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Christ the King Christmas Concert is for students in Kindergarten through 5th grades. Students work hard during the fall to prepare a fun, energetic music program featuring various Christmas songs. Performances are broken up into three sections: Grades K-1, Grades 2-3, and Grades 4-5.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Dear Parents and Guardians,
As you are aware, Christ the King School is in the midst of a wonderful and exciting expansion project that will include eight new classrooms, one of them being a new music room. Currently, as well as throughout this school year, the music classroom will be directly impacted. At the present, the back half of the music room is already under preparatory construction work. In December, the entire music room will be stripped and cleared out as it will become the new upstairs hallway and upstairs bathrooms. Beginning in January and until the end of the school year, I will teach music class in the students’ homerooms.
With that said, after weighing all the possible options, I sadly, with a very heavy heart, am announcing that there will be no Christmas Concert this year, originally scheduled for December 19th, 2019. Unfortunately, with half of the music room already unavailable for use, as well as the necessity to begin packing up and moving everything out in early December to prepare for the January construction, there is simply no space to properly and adequately prepare for this large-scale event. This was not a decision that was made lightly. Understandably, everyone involved, is going to be tremendously disappointed upon hearing this news. Rest assured; this wonderful annual tradition will resume once again next year. In addition, because fifth grade will be missing out on the opportunity this year, to participate in the ensemble group, I will be opening this group up to both fifth and sixth graders who wish to participate in the Christmas concert in 2020.
