In school this week, we started a new theme in the classroom – All About Me. We will be talking about what makes us special, our families, our 5 senses, and personal safety. We learned about all the things that make us special. Our WOW words: unique, creative, athletic, appreciate and persistent – kicked off the start of the All About Me theme. We practiced our counting and we also met Ms. P and learned about her letter and sound. Once the class got started in thinking of P words for our board, it was a marathon list of words … their persistence paid off!
Did your child tell you about the Pancake Party we had on Tuesday? Everyone enjoyed some pancakes, playing with their friends and discovering how each of us are special and unique! We made a pancake craft and a portrait of ourselves. Father Mike visited our classroom and helped us learn the sign of the cross. In religion, we learned about how special we are to God – Jesus said “Bring the children to Me”.
The field trip information sheet, permission slip and return letter went home this weekend in the yellow folder. Please return as soon as possible. It is a wonderful field trip and the students are getting excited – I think we are going to have to make a countdown chart with the number of days to the field trip!
Scholastic Book Orders are due this upcoming Friday, September 28th!
Next Week: We will be talking about our families and Mr. H will make an appearance to teach us about his letter and sound. Help your child think of some Hh words for our board this week!
