Very unfortunately, we are still having a big problem transitioning to other classrooms. Father Michael was very disappointed in the fourth graders’ behavior on Friday, and today Mrs. Terry reported that there was a lot of talking among themselves during Social Studies. I am seeing some of this, but the class seems to be saving their chatting mostly for times they are not with me. I had a very stern talk with them about my expectations, and I know it would really help if you also talked to your child about your expectations. This is a great group of kids, and I know they can do better.
Your child began his/her story map in class today, and will finish up at home tonight. This is the first step in our narrative. If you have not signed your child’s directions page and send it back, please do so tomorrow so I can be sure everyone knows about the project.
We also talked about what scientists do, and explored many interesting career options in science. The kids were amazed at all of the jobs out there!
