This morning, we went on our visit to our service assignment. We made a snow globe craft with residents. I can’t begin to tell you how kind and patient your children were with the residents. Many of them had residents who were unable to communicate well, or had trouble remembering what they were talking about, and one group of girls had two residents just decide to leave in the middle of the craft. But, that did not deter the kids one bit. They just continued to be kind and engage. Not once was anyone being inappropriate or ignoring their resident. As I walked around, I overheard the kids asking questions about the residents and telling them a little bit about themselves. I was immensely proud of them. I think they all deserve ice cream! 🙂 A HUGE thank you goes out to Angie Skwarcan, who arranged everything for us, and helped organize our activity at Healthwin. This would not have been possible without her!
With the short week, and then next week being Catholic Schools Week, there is going to be a lot going on. Therefore, this week, we will have a Spelling unit, but no Reading unit, and next week, we will do Reading, but not Spelling.
For our CKS collection for CSW, fourth graders have been asked to contribute high efficiency laundry pods. Our Lady of the Road and St. Margaret’s House will be the recipients of our collection this year.
Please read the newsletter sent out last week detailing activities and special dress for next week. If you aren’t able to access the newsletter, let me know, and I’ll send you a hard copy.
We will have a Math test tomorrow.
