Friday is the International Day of Peace. So, today in Art, the kids made paper cranes, and we are reading aloud “Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes”. I haven’t told them this yet, so please don’t share, but when we finish the book on Friday, we are sending the cranes to Japan to be lain with thousands of cranes from children around the world at the Sadako statue in Peace Park. We are also so lucky, because Mrs. Hill lived for a year in Japan, and she is going to give us a short presentation about Japanese culture on Friday!
The math tests are fantastic! They will come home tomorrow.
We have started AR this week. For every book a student takes a test on and scores 80% or better, the child receives a sticker on his/her AR card. When 5 stickers have been earned, the students gets to choose a prize from the AR box. If you’d like to contribute fun pencils, pens, erasers, book marks etc.. we would all be most grateful. If you have things to send in, just send them in with your child.
